FRESHMEN COACHING STAFF

Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator

REGGIE McGILL

Coach McGill graduated from St. Mary’s in 1987 where he was the Arizona Player of the Year and in 1985, was MVP of the State Champion football game. Coach McGill was a Parade All-American and three year starter. His teams won two state championships at St. Mary's and was part of the state’s longest winning streak Additionally, he was a two time MVP as nominated by his teammates at St. Mary's and is the current rushing record holder at St. Mary’s. Coach McGill's football jersey was retired in 1987 - so #42 is off limits. Coach McGill attended the University of Arizona - where he was a four year starter at running back. In his junior year at the U of A, he led the team in rushing and receiving and was named Pac 10 honorable mention. Coach McGill attended NFL team camps for the San Diego Chargers and the Detroit Lions. Coach McGill has been a teacher and coach for sixteen years.

Defensive Coordinator/LB

SEAN POTTER

Coach Potter played inside linebacker for Phoenix College from '89-'91. Coach Potter has over fourteen years of coaching experience. Last season he led the freshmen Knights defense to an undefeated 9-0 season

OL/DL

PETE ALCANTAR

Coach Alcantar graduated from Camelback High School. He has over eleven years coaching experience. Coach Alcantar led the freshmen Knights offensive and defensive lines to an undefeated record of 9-0 last season.

Wide Receivers

ERIC WRIGHT

Coach Wright graduated from Chandler High School in 2001. He played both free safety and corner back at the college level for Glendale Community College, Temple University and Pittsburgh State. Coach Wright was named all WSFL in 2002 and was an All-American in 2004. Coach Wright led the freshman receivers and defensive backs to an undefeated 9-0 record last season.

Ryan Kealy

Member of St. Mary's 1995 5A Championship Team. Arizona Football Player of the Year-1995. Holder of numerous St. Mary's passing records. Jersey # 4 is retired. Starting quarterback at ASU 1996-1999. This is his first season working with the freshman team.
